Ocean quest chain

Abyss Lost Captain — Requirements and Angler Cave

Lost Captain’s Ocean chain leads to Angler Cave access. Track its fish, mutation, geode and chest objectives without sending yourself into the still-locked cave.

Start the chain

The first step is recorded at level 35 with a 10,000-Cash requirement. Lost Captain is in the Ocean, near the shipwreck context used by the Blobfish entry. These are quest and location references, not an XYZ route traced by this site.

Keep the active objective visible and distinguish a species count from a mutation count. The late objectives below are separate turn-ins; having a correct fish species does not automatically satisfy a required mutation.

Whispers Beneath — third recorded step

Whale Meat comes from the Spirit Roots mini-boss encounter, not an ordinary Whale catch. The mutation objectives are properties on catches, not independent species with a fixed spawn location.

  • Two Whale Meat; three Eyefish; six Hammerhead Sharks; ten Sailfish.
  • Six Negative-mutated fish and three Neon-mutated fish.
  • Twenty geodes and seventy chests.

Last Voyage — fourth recorded step

The completion reward includes the Pirate Key used for Angler Cave access. Blobfish also occurs in the Ocean; do not attempt to enter the locked cave just to satisfy the Blobfish part of this objective. Check the client’s current names and credited counters before spending or selling.

  • Three Bluefin Tuna, fifteen Blobfish, twenty Piranhas and ten Seahorses.
  • Ten Metal, eight Albino, five Ultraviolet and two Shadow-mutated fish.
  • Thirty geodes and eighty-five chests.

Where to get the three Neon fish

Neon is a mutation, not a fish species or a special fixed “Neon spawn” point. The mutation entry records that it can appear in any area, and gives a 2.8× sale multiplier rather than a reliable location-specific appearance rate. Catch in a route you can repeat and retain qualifying fish for the turn-in.

An Anglerfish race double-drop passive or Drop Luck item is not evidence of a higher Neon-mutation spawn chance. This page does not invent a target spot or a required mutation multiplier from those unrelated effects.

Source and version context

Mechanics above come from the original community records linked below, read October 18, 2026 through indexed mid-2026 pages. This is a source-based guide, not a claim that this site completed the route in the current client. Where records conflict, a precise value is omitted rather than selected arbitrarily.
